Food for Thought

Health: When wealth is lost, nothing is lost; when health is lost, everything is lost. You are what you eat. Health should be best taken care of naturally. Eating the right food, doing the right exercise, having a calm and peaceful mind, are the keys to good health. Health problems result from carelessness and ignorance. They are developed over time. So there is no quick fix such as a pill

Death: Death is imminent. No material things will go with you when you die. Earning money by honest means and being content, calm, pious, honest, truthful, caring and helpful paves the way for a better future life.
Reincarnation/Rebirth: There are many examples of reincarnation. For example, children remember and tell about their past lives as human beings. Animals have demonstrated understanding of human behavior and language thought to be beyond their ordinary capabilities. To the wise, it is the biggest proof that one is born again and again.
Destiny or Luck: Some children are born with all the riches and others with almost nothing. Some are fortunate, others less so; some are sick, others healthy; some are intelligent, others not so much. This is not by God’s own will. If it was, then He would be unjust and partial. God is Just and Impartial; therefore, this is because of one’s own deeds – the result of the past or present human life. Sayings such as “you get out what you put in,” “what goes around comes around,” and “action and reaction are equal and in opposite direction,” are true beyond the present life.
Animals: Animals are the same as people because they have feelings, emotions, happiness, sadness, knowledge, and the ability to think. They communicate well. Pet owners or people working with animals echo this view. Animals have performed miracles and saved their owners’ lives. Therefore, killing or hurting them for food or entertainment would be wrong.
Knowlege: Knowing honesty, truthfulness, caring and helping are righteous deeds, but that hurting or killing humans and animals alike, dishonesty, lying and cheating are bad works, is true knowledge. Knowing that true pleasure comes from contentment, calmness, peacefulness etc. and not from greed and lust is true knowledge.
